Rowan VINELink Release Result Fields
A released result can report a status and event date supplied by the participating agency. It does not decide what happened to the criminal charge. Nor does it always show whether a different agency immediately took custody. Read each field for its limited purpose.

A “released” result means that the contributing custody agency reported a release event. It does not mean acquitted or case closed. Bond and other pretrial release conditions can allow the person to leave jail while the case continues. Transfer can end one custodian's hold and begin another. Register Rowan County Release Alerts

- Use the PIN to acknowledge an automated call. The system may repeat calls until the notification is acknowledged.

Registration should be reviewed if a phone number or email address changes. Save the confirmation details so support staff can identify the registration. Do not share a phone PIN with people who should not acknowledge the alert.
Phone acknowledgment matters because repeat calls can continue until the PIN is entered. Email and text methods have their own confirmation steps. Choosing two offered methods reduces reliance on one device or inbox, but it does not create two independent sources. Both notices still depend on the same agency event reaching NC SAVAN. If a planned release is near and no alert has arrived, contact the listed custodian instead of assuming custody continued.
Verify Rowan County Release Status
VINELink, Rowan P2C, NC DAC, and the court docket serve different roles. VINELink reports a custody status or change from a participating agency and sends prospective notice. NC DAC defines “Active Probationer/Parolee” as a person in the community under state supervision. It indicates departure from secure prison, but not the end of legal control. “Inactive” generally means the person is no longer active as either an inmate or a supervised person. Rowan VINELink Release Check Limits
Agency participation and feed timing limit every alert. VINELink should not be described as guaranteed universal coverage of all Rowan, DAC, federal, or immigration movements. An imminent pickup, court deadline, or safety decision calls for direct verification with the agency that holds the person or created the release event.
VINELink does not replace the federal systems. The NC Sex Offender Registry is also separate. It covers people legally required to register and is not a general released-inmate database. Most released people are not registrants. An absent registry result says nothing reliable about a person's jail custody, case outcome, or NC SAVAN participation.
NC SAVAN support can help with registration and notification delivery, but it cannot rewrite a Rowan sheriff record or a DAC status history. Similarly, the Detention Center can confirm its booking event but cannot supply the final court disposition. Route each conflict to the office that owns that fact. This division is essential when a person leaves county jail, enters state custody, and later appears under community supervision.
Resolve Rowan Release Record Conflicts
